Why you should get your photos printed
Creating lasting memories of real moments
Do all your photos get stuck on your phone or laptop? This happens to me too, but I make an effort to print when I can. I want to have physical photos of my family that they can regularly see and will be preserved even if the digital file may get lost.
Sometimes in the chaos of daily life, I see a photo of my kids on the wall or leaf through an album and it is a forcefully reminder of what family life is all about and (without wishing to sound too cheesy) the love that bonds us together. This is why I am passionate about family photography and it is what I want for my clients too!
Studies have shown that displaying photos impacts positively on a child’s self-esteem, confidence and sense of belonging. I’ve notice that my 2-year-old daughter is fascinated by pictures of herself and us. So now I am making even more of an effort to print photos and have them around the house.
A few months ago, I did a documentary photography session with a family living locally in Highbury who ordered prints to frame and hang on their walls. I was invited round recently to see the end result and the prints looked really striking and are a lovely addition to their beautiful home. I was thrilled to see one in a baroque frame over the mantlepiece! Apparently, their one-year son also loves to see the pictures of himself on the wall, just like my daughter.
So, whether you opt to have your pictures professionally printed through me after your shoot or you want to go ahead and arrange it yourself, I really recommend investing in physical printed photos. Your family can enjoy them on a daily basis and they will last a lifetime and longer in your memory and in your hand!
I’m a documentary family photographer based in North London, working mainly in Highbury and Islington, Highgate and Stoke Newington but available to travel across London. If you want to chat please get in touch.
